As the Empire's power grows, rebels face a choice: give in... or fight. Some form pockets of resistance on battleground planets. some go undercover, trying to fight the Empire from within. Others watch and wait.
For Ferus Olin, hatred of the Empire is personal. The things that have been closest to him have been destroyed. the Jedi order he once belonged to has been decimated. and the future isn't looking much brighter... unless a true Rebellion can be born.

This story occurs between approximately six to seven months after the events of Revenge of the Sith (18 and a half years before the Battle of Yavin).

Review by Bones, UK, 2012:

"Ferus is getting closer and closer to uncovering the identity of Darth Vader, whilst Trever goes undercover at the Imperial Navy Academy in order to rescue Lune Divinian and the mysterious leader of Operation Moonstrike turns out to be even more mysterious than originally thought.
"The Last of the Jedi series is beginning to show signs of needed to finish, which given that there are only two more books left isn't as big an issue as perhaps it could be. Nevertheless, there are certain plotlines which have crawled along through the series that could really do with being wrapped up. Watson's uber-story-arc is starting to feel a little stretched.
"The icing on the cake with this book is seeing Ferus beginning to succumb to the dark side of the Force. As he spends more and more time with the Empire, he loses focus of his Jedi values and convinces himself that the dark side can aid him. The scenes have a great sense of foreboding to them as we see his conscience perverted by the Emperor's influence. It promises to make the series finale entertaining.
"As with the previous book, the series is wearing itself out. A good read, but we're ready now for a climax."
