A New Dawn SDCC promo edition

Del Rey has announced via its Facebook[External site - opens in a new window/tab] page that attendees to next month's San Diego Comic-Con (24th to 27th July) can pick up a free promotional paperback Advance Reader's Edition of John Jackson Miller's forthcoming A New Dawn novel:

"Here’s a sneak peek at our Exclusive Advance Reader’s Edition of STAR WARS: A NEW DAWN by John Jackson Miller, which we’ll be giving away for free at select times during San Diego Comic-Con. Though the final book doesn’t hit shelves until September, the promo edition of A NEW DAWN will contain the full novel, as well as excerpts from STAR WARS: TARKIN, STAR WARS: HEIR TO THE JEDI, AND STAR WARS: LORDS OF THE SITH. Author John Jackson Miller will also be on-hand providing signings throughout the convention. Stay tuned for more details about the giveaway, and the signings, as we get closer to the show."

A New Dawn by John Jackson Miller is the first novel to form part of the new canon from the Lucasfilm Story Group and is set several years before Star Wars Rebels: The stage is set for the coming Rebellion against the Empire: Kanan is a Jedi survivor of Order 66. Refusing to wield his lightsaber ever again, he makes a living as a freelance pilot, keeping his head down to avoid any Imperial attention. But when the beautiful Hera Syndulla sweeps into his life at the same time his friends and his livelihood are being threatened by an Imperial plot, he faces the biggest choice of his life: keep hiding…or or make a stand and risk the wrath of the Empire.

It is due for release on September 2nd (US) and September 25th (UK) in hardback (and e-Book and Audio Book) meaning that SDCC attendees can get their hands on this much anticipated book, in a paperback edition, nearly six weeks before its general hardback release.
