Star Wars Celebration Europe: latest book and comic news

Capturing all the latest book and comic news from Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016.

Sunday 17th July | The Star Wars Show Live:
Matthew Ruddle, marketing manager for Penguin Random House UK, announced on The Star Wars Show Live that Alexander Freed (Battlefront: Twilight Company) would be writing the novelisation for Rogue One. He also revealed that Timothy Zahn's upcoming Thrawn novel was a prequel to the Grand Admiral appearance on Star Wars Rebels and that in Zahn's story we are "going to get to see how Thrawn got to his position of power, how he became so respected in the Empire, and just what makes him such a brilliant villain and tactician".
Although Ruddle was unable to share any information on James Luceno's Rogue One prequel novel, Catalyst, he did encourage people to read it when it is released in October as "it ties in, it connects dots".

Saturday 16th July | Star Wars Rebels Season 3 panel:
As well as appearing in season 3 of Star Wars Rebels, Thrawn is also getting his own canon novel by Timothy Zahn:

Published by Del Rey, Thrawn by Timothy Zahn is scheduled for release in the US in April 2017.

  • #170: "Voices of the Empire" by Merle Lafferty

In 2017, "Blade Squadron: Jakku" by Mark Williams & David Williams ties into Aftermath: Empires End.

Finalised cover for Emily Kate Johnston's upcoming YA Ahsoka novel revealed:
