NYCC news...

10th October 2015 |

UPDATED: 13th October
Announced at this year's New York Comic Con were the titles for the two books that will complete Chuck Wendig's Aftermath trilogy: Life Debt (expected Summer 2016) and Empire's End (2017); as well as a new novel set six years prior to The Force Awakens from Claudia Grey, author of the well-recieved Journey to The Force Awakens: Lost Stars, is New Republic: Bloodline (Spring 2016).

Others announced are more short stories that will receive a variety of release mediums: Alan Dean Foster will write a The Force Awakens tie-in short for publication in Star Wars Insider #162 (December 2015); a vignette by Delilah S. Dawson called The Perfect Weapon will be published in e-book format; and the first Tales from... anthology since 1999, Tales from A Galaxy far, far away: Aliens, will feature four original stories: The Face of Evil, All Creatures Great and Small, High Noon on Jakku, and The Crimson Corsair and the Treasure of Count Dooku. It will be first published in e-book form in December with a paperback release with two additional stories in 2016.

Meanwhile Marvel will begin a new prequel era five-issue mini-series in January by Charles Soule (Lando) and Marco Checchetto (Shattered Empire) titled Obi-Wan & Anakin:

Before their military heroism in the Clone Wars, before their tragic battle on Mustafar, and many decades before their final confrontation on the Death Star… they were Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Padawan learner, Anakin Skywalker. It’s been a few years since Obi-Wan pledged to train the young “chosen one,” but even as they have grown closer through training, it has been a difficult road. Now, called to a remote planet for assistance, Master and Padawan may be pushed to the breaking point. Writer Charles Soule (Lando, She-Hulk, Daredevil) and artist Marco Checchetto (Star Wars: Shattered Empire, Avengers World, Punisher) bring us a tale of the Jedi at the height of their power…
